What is this about?
The stereotypical image of Brazil is of sunshine, sand and sex, but for me Brazil is also about food. I have some American friends who unequivocally state to anyone who asks that the best thing about Brazil is the food. When visiting, they first want to go have feijoada for lunch, and then go to the churrascaria for dinner.
I have been living in Brazil, in the city of Salvador, for more than two years, and I want this blog to reflect the daily life that I know, beyond the stereotypes. Of course food is important because I eat every day, but there is also music, dancing, personal relationships, beaches, carnival, finding a piano teacher, buying a car, and all the other things of daily life here.
I hope this information can be useful to tourists, cultural visitors, expats, business travelers, wanders, and anyone who has come to love Brazil, and wants to explore below the surface. I am not trying to replace or replicate information found in a travel guide, but rather complement by sharing my personal experiences.
Please add your comments and questions. I would love to hear from you!
